Daulatpur is a village in Nawanshahr tehsil of SBS Nagar district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Nawansahar, about 7 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Nawanshahr community development block and is served by the Daulat Pur gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 032059, and it covers 251 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,969 people in Daulatpur: 965 men and 1,004 women, living in 433 households, an average of about 4.5 people per household. Spread over its 251 hectares, the population density works out to about 784 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1040 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 167, about 8 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 564 people, about 29 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 83.63 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 88.11 per cent and women at 79.4 per cent.
