Where is Jhangerian?

Jhangerian is a village in Balachaur tehsil of SBS Nagar district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Balachaur, about 12 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Saroya community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 032489, and it covers 172 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 119 people in Jhangerian: 60 men and 59 women, living in 30 households, an average of about 4.0 people per household. Spread over its 172 hectares, the population density works out to about 69 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 983 women for every 1,000 men.
