The Border Security Force (BSF) has caught a Punjab Police constable with about 15 kg of heroin near the Pakistan border in Tarn Taran, in a case that has handed the opposition a fresh line of attack on the state's anti-drug campaign.
According to reports on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the constable was intercepted at a checkpoint in the Sarai Amanat Khan police station area. Reports describe him as posted with the state police's anti-drone unit; other reports say he was attached to a jammer vehicle in a VVIP convoy. The accused is a resident of Bhuse village.

Punjab Newsline reported that the BSF's 115th Battalion got a tip-off that a drone-dropped consignment was with the constable, who was allegedly preparing to dispose of it.
