Separately, Punjab's housing department has revoked concessions of nearly Rs 40 crore given to Remigate Buildestates.
What is the Remigate case?
It concerns a 1.13-acre food-court site in Sector 62, Mohali, allotted to Remigate Buildestates (India) Pvt Ltd for Rs 32.50 crore in 2015. The Tribune and The New Indian Express report that the company later got relief on non-construction charges and penal interest, which ED is examining along with the role of officials who approved it. The Tribune puts the waiver at nearly Rs 57 crore; Hindustan Times and the Express put the concessions revoked at nearly Rs 40 crore.
What has ED said about Garg?
Agency officials told the Tribune that Remigate is a linked company controlled by Tirupati's promoters. ED is also probing a 2013 CBI bank-fraud case linked to Garg, and last month searched 26 premises across Delhi, Mohali, Chandigarh, Panchkula and Ludhiana, plus surveys at GMADA and the housing department. The allegations are ED's; no court has ruled on them.
Why did Punjab revoke the waiver?
Hindustan Times reports that in a 19-page order dated October 15, principal secretary Vikas Garg, acting as revisional authority, dismissed the company's petition and rescinded GMADA's February 5, 2026 appellate order. He noted the firm had stopped paying instalments in 2016, had paid about Rs 2.46 crore of Rs 6.46 crore due on September 1, and had abandoned construction.
What happens next?
GMADA must give an itemised statement within two weeks; the company then gets one month to pay. Failure could lead to resumption of the site and forfeiture after notice and a hearing. ED's questioning of Garg is expected to focus on the transactions.

ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨ ਟਾਈਮਜ਼ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ 15 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ ਦੇ 19 ਸਫ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਗਰਗ ਨੇ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਦੀ ਪਟੀਸ਼ਨ ਰੱਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ 5 ਫ਼ਰਵਰੀ 2026 ਦਾ ਗਮਾਡਾ ਅਪੀਲੀ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੋਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਨੇ 2016 ਤੋਂ ਕਿਸ਼ਤਾਂ ਦੇਣੀਆਂ ਬੰਦ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਾਰੀ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ।
