Where is Boharwala?

Boharwala is a village of Ajnala tehsil in Amritsar district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Ajnala, about 12 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Ajnala community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 037345, and it covers 252 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 977 people in Boharwala: 522 men and 455 women, living in 181 households, an average of about 5.4 people per household. Spread over its 252 hectares, the population density works out to about 388 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 872 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 145, about 15 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 33 people, about 3 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
