Kohala (Baba Bakala) is a village in Baba Bakala tehsil of Amritsar district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Majha region, and the 2011 directory recorded Jandiala, about 15 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Tarsika community development block and is served by the Kohala gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 037739, and it covers 226 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,496 people in Kohala (Baba Bakala): 780 men and 716 women, living in 272 households, an average of about 5.5 people per household.
