Where is Kotli Mallian?

Kotli Mallian is a village in Amritsar I tehsil of Amritsar district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Majha region, and the 2011 directory recorded Majitha, about 15 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Majitha community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 037456, and it covers 176 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 989 people in Kotli Mallian: 482 men and 507 women, living in 192 households, an average of about 5.2 people per household. Spread over its 176 hectares, the population density works out to about 562 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1052 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 129, about 13 per cent of the village.
