The village falls in the Ajnala community development block and is served by the Sheikh Bhatti gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 037151, and it covers 291 hectares.

The 2011 census counted 382 people in Mahji Meun: 194 men and 188 women, living in 52 households, an average of about 7.3 people per household.
