It lies in the Malwa region, and the 2011 directory recorded Bathinda, about 5 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Sangat community development block and is served by the Jai Singh Wala gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 035790, and it covers 1,838 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 5,108 people in Jai Singhwala: 2,626 men and 2,482 women, living in 998 households, an average of about 5.1 people per household. Spread over its 1,838 hectares, the population density works out to about 278 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 945 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 593, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 2,070 people, about 41 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
