Where is Khialiwala?

Khialiwala is a village of Bathinda tehsil in Bathinda district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Bathinda, about 4 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Bathinda community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 035742, and it covers 1,045 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 3,091 people in Khialiwala: 1,646 men and 1,445 women, living in 553 households, an average of about 5.6 people per household. Spread over its 1,045 hectares, the population density works out to about 296 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 878 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 377, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 1,298 people, about 42 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 63.01 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 70.9 per cent and women at 54.18 per cent.
