The village falls in the Faridkot community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 035530, and it covers 2,221 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 6,051 people in Arayanwala Kalan: 3,165 men and 2,886 women, living in 1,113 households, an average of about 5.4 people per household. Spread over its 2,221 hectares, the population density works out to about 272 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 912 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 833, about 14 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 3,631 people, about 60 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 59.01 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 64.5 per cent and women at 53.01 per cent.
