Dawareana is a village of Kot Kapura tehsil in Faridkot district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Kot Kapura, about 4 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Kot Kapura community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 035469, and it covers 462 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,812 people in Dawareana: 982 men and 830 women, living in 366 households, an average of about 5.0 people per household. Spread over its 462 hectares, the population density works out to about 392 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 845 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 206, about 11 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 909 people, about 50 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 67.06 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 74 per cent and women at 58.8 per cent. The census recorded 896 workers, about 49 per cent of the village. Irrigation came mainly from canals (300 hectares) and wells and tube-wells (125 hectares). About 37 hectares were under non-agricultural uses such as the village settlement, roads and ponds.
