The 2011 census counted 4,300 people in Pakhi Kalan: 2,292 men and 2,008 women, living in 801 households, an average of about 5.4 people per household. Spread over its 1,691 hectares, the population density works out to about 254 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 876 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 512, about 12 per cent of the village.
