Where is Sadhuwala?

Sadhuwala is a village in Faridkot tehsil of Faridkot district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Malwa region, and the 2011 directory recorded Faridkot, about 15 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Faridkot community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 035520, and it covers 311 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 548 people in Sadhuwala: 299 men and 249 women, living in 117 households, an average of about 4.7 people per household. Spread over its 311 hectares, the population density works out to about 176 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 833 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 68, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 238 people, about 43 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 59.38 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 62.08 per cent and women at 55.92 per cent.
