The village falls in the Kot Kapura community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 035622, and it covers 410 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,144 people in Sedha Singhwala: 602 men and 542 women, living in 230 households, an average of about 5.0 people per household. Spread over its 410 hectares, the population density works out to about 279 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 900 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 143, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 675 people, about 59 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 69.53 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 78.39 per cent and women at 59.83 per cent. The census recorded 333 workers, about 29 per cent of the village. Of the 267 main workers, the largest group, 120, were other workers in trade, transport and services, ahead of 97 agricultural labourers and 48 cultivators on their own land. A further 66 people were marginal workers, employed for only part of the year.
