Where is Kalemajra?

Kalemajra is a village of Bassi Pathana tehsil in Fatehgarh Sahib district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Sirhind Fatehgarh Sahib, about 13 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Khera community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 032552, and it covers 84 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 353 people in Kalemajra: 190 men and 163 women, living in 60 households, an average of about 5.9 people per household. Spread over its 84 hectares, the population density works out to about 420 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 858 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 38, about 11 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 93 people, about 26 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
