Where is Ladpur?

Ladpur is a village of Amloh tehsil in Fatehgarh Sahib district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Amloh, about 11 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Amloh community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 032836, and it covers 319 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 971 people in Ladpur: 514 men and 457 women, living in 159 households, an average of about 6.1 people per household. Spread over its 319 hectares, the population density works out to about 304 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 889 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 98, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 392 people, about 40 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 75.37 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 79.53 per cent and women at 70.66 per cent. The census recorded 405 workers, about 42 per cent of the village.
