Chak Mohamdewala is a village of Jalalabad tehsil in Fazilka district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Jalalabad, about 14 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Jalalabad community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 034993, and it covers 223 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,177 people in Chak Mohamdewala: 611 men and 566 women, living in 226 households, an average of about 5.2 people per household. Spread over its 223 hectares, the population density works out to about 528 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 926 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 141, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 1,008 people, about 86 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 63.9 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 74.58 per cent and women at 52.67 per cent. The census recorded 386 workers, about 33 per cent of the village. A further 69 people were marginal workers, employed for only part of the year.
