The village falls in the Jalalabad community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 034946, and it covers 473 hectares.

The 2011 census counted 2,287 people in Dhab Khushal Joya: 1,195 men and 1,092 women, living in 439 households, an average of about 5.2 people per household.
