Where is Rampura?

Rampura is a village in Fazilka tehsil of Fazilka district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Malwa region, and the 2011 directory recorded Fazilka, about 4 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Fazilka community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 035119, and it covers 734 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 2,155 people in Rampura: 1,348 men and 807 women, living in 345 households, an average of about 6.2 people per household. Spread over its 734 hectares, the population density works out to about 294 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 599 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 247, about 11 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 569 people, about 26 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
