Where is Sito Gunno?

Sito Gunno is a village of Abohar tehsil in Fazilka district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Abohar, about 16 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Abohar community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 035213, and it covers 1,718 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 4,943 people in Sito Gunno: 2,608 men and 2,335 women, living in 905 households, an average of about 5.5 people per household. Spread over its 1,718 hectares, the population density works out to about 288 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 895 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 625, about 13 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 1,220 people, about 25 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 61.28 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 71.75 per cent and women at 49.48 per cent. The census recorded 1,773 workers, about 36 per cent of the village.
