Where is Jhanjian?

Jhanjian is a village of Firozpur tehsil in Ferozepur district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Mudki, about 8 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Ghall Khurd community development block and is served by the Jhanjian Wala gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 034461, and it covers 155 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 335 people in Jhanjian: 176 men and 159 women, living in 66 households, an average of about 5.1 people per household. Spread over its 155 hectares, the population density works out to about 216 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 903 women for every 1,000 men.
