Where is Jodhpur?

Jodhpur is a village of Firozpur tehsil in Ferozepur district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Guru Har Sahai, about 16 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Mamdot community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 034720, and it covers 338 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,154 people in Jodhpur: 600 men and 554 women, living in 205 households, an average of about 5.6 people per household. Spread over its 338 hectares, the population density works out to about 341 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 923 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 139, about 12 per cent of the village.
