Where is Saidanwala?

Saidanwala is a village of Firozpur tehsil in Ferozepur district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Firozpur, about 7 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Ghall Khurd community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 034526, and it covers 324 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 540 people in Saidanwala: 280 men and 260 women, living in 123 households, an average of about 4.4 people per household. Spread over its 324 hectares, the population density works out to about 167 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 929 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 54, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 256 people, about 47 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
