Where is Darapur?

Darapur is a village of Gurdaspur tehsil in Gurdaspur district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Gurdaspur, about 17 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Kahnuwan community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 028378, and it covers 255 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,518 people in Darapur: 789 men and 729 women, living in 256 households, an average of about 5.9 people per household.
