Where is Mir Kachana?

Mir Kachana is a village of Batala tehsil in Gurdaspur district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Batala, about 13 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dera Baba Nanak community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 028865, and it covers 84 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 298 people in Mir Kachana: 157 men and 141 women, living in 50 households, an average of about 6.0 people per household. Spread over its 84 hectares, the population density works out to about 355 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 898 women for every 1,000 men.
