Where is Badowal?

Badowal is a village of Hoshiarpur tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Hoshiarpur, about 10 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Hoshiarpur-II community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031711, and it covers 248 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 934 people in Badowal: 473 men and 461 women, living in 207 households, an average of about 4.5 people per household. Spread over its 248 hectares, the population density works out to about 377 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 975 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 105, about 11 per cent of the village.
