Balaspur is a village of Hoshiarpur tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Hoshiarpur, about 5 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Hoshiarpur-II community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031502, and it covers 147 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 877 people in Balaspur: 438 men and 439 women, living in 191 households, an average of about 4.6 people per household. Spread over its 147 hectares, the population density works out to about 597 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1002 women for every 1,000 men.
