Chahang Basoya is a village of Dasua tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Gardhiwala, about 9 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Bhunga community development block and is served by the Chahang--Basoya gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030947, and it covers 64 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 894 people in Chahang Basoya: 441 men and 453 women, living in 200 households, an average of about 4.5 people per household. Spread over its 64 hectares, the population density works out to about 1,397 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1027 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 146, about 16 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 83 people, about 9 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
