Where is Himmatpur?

Himmatpur is a village in Dasua tehsil of Hoshiarpur district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Dasua, about 15 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dasua community development block and is served by the Satabkot gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030747, and it covers 371 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,860 people in Himmatpur: 943 men and 917 women, living in 390 households, an average of about 4.8 people per household. Spread over its 371 hectares, the population density works out to about 501 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 972 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 211, about 11 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 642 people, about 35 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
