The village falls in the Hoshiarpur-I community development block and is served by the Ghasipur gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031459, and it covers 133 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 337 people in Jalalpur: 166 men and 171 women, living in 65 households, an average of about 5.2 people per household.
