Where is Jande?

Jande is a village in Dasua tehsil of Hoshiarpur district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Dasua, about 14 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Bhunga community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030915, and it covers 38 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 253 people in Jande: 126 men and 127 women, living in 55 households, an average of about 4.6 people per household. Spread over its 38 hectares, the population density works out to about 666 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1008 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 20, about 8 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 103 people, about 41 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
