The village falls in the Hoshiarpur-I community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031671, and it covers 79 hectares.

The 2011 census counted 142 people in Jhojar: 84 men and 58 women, living in 26 households, an average of about 5.5 people per household. Spread over its 79 hectares, the population density works out to about 180 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 690 women for every 1,000 men.
