Where is Kumpur?

Kumpur is a village of Dasua tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Urmar Tanda, about 10 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Tanda community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030828, and it covers 82 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 361 people in Kumpur: 199 men and 162 women, living in 95 households, an average of about 3.8 people per household. Spread over its 82 hectares, the population density works out to about 440 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 814 women for every 1,000 men.
