Where is Nasran?

Nasran is a village of Garhshankar tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Mahilpur, about 8 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Mahilpur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031833, and it covers 221 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 671 people in Nasran: 350 men and 321 women, living in 120 households, an average of about 5.6 people per household. Spread over its 221 hectares, the population density works out to about 304 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 917 women for every 1,000 men.
