Where is Patiari?

Patiari is a village of Hoshiarpur tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Hariana, about 13 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Bhunga community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031357, and it covers 765 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 877 people in Patiari: 424 men and 453 women, living in 191 households, an average of about 4.6 people per household. Spread over its 765 hectares, the population density works out to about 115 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1068 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 102, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 567 people, about 65 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
