Where is Sansarpur?

Sansarpur is a village of Dasua tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Dasua, about 16 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dasua community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030956, and it covers 440 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,549 people in Sansarpur: 807 men and 742 women, living in 342 households, an average of about 4.5 people per household. Spread over its 440 hectares, the population density works out to about 352 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 919 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 153, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 85 people, about 5 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
