Tanda Ram Sahai is a village of Mukerian tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Mukerian, about 4 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Mukerian community development block and is served by the Tanda-Ram-Sahai gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031090, and it covers 353 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 2,478 people in Tanda Ram Sahai: 1,211 men and 1,267 women, living in 578 households, an average of about 4.3 people per household. Spread over its 353 hectares, the population density works out to about 702 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1046 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 296, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 209 people, about 8 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 86.48 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 92.39 per cent and women at 81.12 per cent. The census recorded 486 workers, about 20 per cent of the village.
