Where is Tur?

Tur is a village of Dasua tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Dasua, about 15 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dasua community development block and is served by the Raju Dawakhri gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030838, and it covers 82 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 191 people in Tur: 89 men and 102 women, living in 35 households, an average of about 5.5 people per household. Spread over its 82 hectares, the population density works out to about 233 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1146 women for every 1,000 men.
