The village falls in the Jalandhar (West) community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030543, and it covers 373 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,799 people in Dhirpur: 935 men and 864 women, living in 356 households, an average of about 5.1 people per household. Spread over its 373 hectares, the population density works out to about 482 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 924 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 198, about 11 per cent of the village.
