Ghurial is a village of Jalandhar East tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Adampur, about 6 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Adampur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030292, and it covers 325 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 2,151 people in Ghurial: 1,091 men and 1,060 women, living in 506 households, an average of about 4.3 people per household. Spread over its 325 hectares, the population density works out to about 662 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 972 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 205, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 855 people, about 40 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
