Kapur Pind is a village of Jalandhar East tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Alawalpur, about 5 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Adampur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030334, and it covers 476 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 2,252 people in Kapur Pind: 1,139 men and 1,113 women, living in 469 households, an average of about 4.8 people per household. Spread over its 476 hectares, the population density works out to about 473 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 977 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 222, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 1,333 people, about 59 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 82.96 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 85.17 per cent and women at 80.73 per cent.
