Where is Lutera Kalan?

Lutera Kalan is a village of Jalandhar East tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Adampur, about 10 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Adampur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030283, and it covers 313 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 727 people in Lutera Kalan: 360 men and 367 women, living in 163 households, an average of about 4.5 people per household. Spread over its 313 hectares, the population density works out to about 232 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1019 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 74, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 54 people, about 7 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
