Partappur is a village of Jalandhar East tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Jalandhar, about 13 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Jalandhar (East) community development block and is served by the Partappura gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030385, and it covers 374 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 2,524 people in Partappur: 1,300 men and 1,224 women, living in 506 households, an average of about 5.0 people per household. Spread over its 374 hectares, the population density works out to about 675 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 942 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 273, about 11 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 1,908 people, about 76 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
