Where is Choladha?

Choladha is a village in Sultanpur Lodhi tehsil of Kapurthala district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Sultanpur Lodhi, about 12 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Sultanpur Lodhi community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 029439, and it covers 132 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 445 people in Choladha: 239 men and 206 women, living in 87 households, an average of about 5.1 people per household. Spread over its 132 hectares, the population density works out to about 337 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 862 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 40, about 9 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 138 people, about 31 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
