The village falls in the Sultanpur Lodhi community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 029501, and it covers 348 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,746 people in Rampur Jagir: 902 men and 844 women, living in 342 households, an average of about 5.1 people per household. Spread over its 348 hectares, the population density works out to about 501 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 936 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 181, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 524 people, about 30 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 77.96 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 83.1 per cent and women at 72.58 per cent. The census recorded 640 workers, about 37 per cent of the village.
