Where is Fattu Dhinga?

Fattu Dhinga is a village of Kapurthala tehsil in Kapurthala district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Kapurthala, about 14 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dhilwan community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 029210, and it covers 860 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 3,174 people in Fattu Dhinga: 1,638 men and 1,536 women, living in 597 households, an average of about 5.3 people per household. Spread over its 860 hectares, the population density works out to about 369 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 938 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 359, about 11 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 683 people, about 22 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 71.76 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 76.82 per cent and women at 66.42 per cent.
