Mangewal is a village of Kapurthala tehsil in Kapurthala district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Dhilwan, about 2 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dhilwan community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 029114, and it covers 117 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 574 people in Mangewal: 284 men and 290 women, living in 131 households, an average of about 4.4 people per household. Spread over its 117 hectares, the population density works out to about 491 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1021 women for every 1,000 men.
