Where is Randhirgarh?

Randhirgarh is a village of Phagwara tehsil in Kapurthala district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Phagwara, about 15 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Phagwara community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 029585, and it covers 107 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 473 people in Randhirgarh: 245 men and 228 women, living in 108 households, an average of about 4.4 people per household. Spread over its 107 hectares, the population density works out to about 442 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 931 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 41, about 9 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 150 people, about 32 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
