Where is Pandher Kheri?

Pandher Kheri is a village in Payal tehsil of Ludhiana district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Malwa region, and the 2011 directory recorded Maloud, about 5 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dehlon community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 033310, and it covers 325 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,202 people in Pandher Kheri: 636 men and 566 women, living in 238 households, an average of about 5.1 people per household. Spread over its 325 hectares, the population density works out to about 370 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 890 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 129, about 11 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 659 people, about 55 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 77.54 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 82.95 per cent and women at 71.57 per cent. The census recorded 526 workers, about 44 per cent of the village.
